ADOPTALL — DRAFT CARE & HANDOVER CHECKLIST Use this to prepare a conversation between the responsible carer and adopter or foster carer. This is not a legal agreement or a veterinary assessment. Before meeting 1. Check the animal's current availability, custody, care needs, and records. 2. Discuss your routine, other animals, household needs, and practical support. 3. Agree a suitable meeting place and precautions. Bring someone you trust. 4. Never send advance payments, deposits, shipping fees, or sensitive IDs. Before placement 5. Discuss known health and behaviour needs, medication, food, and vet records. 6. Agree safe transport, introductions, supervision, and settling-in support. 7. Agree who to contact for medical, behavioural, or safety concerns. 8. Agree follow-up preferences. A private update is enough; public posts are optional. 9. Agree what happens if care cannot continue. Contact the responsible carer early, agree a return or safe rehoming plan, and never abandon the animal. 10. If fostering, agree duration, supplies, expense responsibilities, emergencies, backup options, and a return arrangement. Do not assume backup space exists. 11. Both participants confirm only after the actual placement has happened. After placement 12. Check in after a few days, again as the animal settles, and in a few weeks. 13. Ask for support early. Medical questions need a qualified veterinarian. 14. Keep private contact details, addresses, documents, and people's images private. AdoptAll connects people. Review badges describe account checks and cannot guarantee suitability, honesty, animal health, custody, or placement safety. Reporting through AdoptAll is not an emergency response service.
